- Workspacemanager
- Window functions
- Short-Cut-Functions / Macros
- How to edit .ctwmrc
- Include of all files of this configuration

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
			Exit Ctwm and the Xsession
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

	- right mouse button on the root-screen offers you a menu
	- in the title bar of each window look for the icon with the X. This
	  offers you again a menu
	- press ctrl + shift + F12 (this may not work, when num-lock or cap is
activated, but this may be different to each
	   			    machine.)

If ctwm is the first client invoked from xdm, this will result
in a server reset (exit the xsession).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
			     Workspacemanager:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Workspaces can be chanced of course via the workspacemanager, pressing the
buttons, via the root-menu, button2 or with the keyboard

Alt + F1 to F12, right quickly

To go a workspace up or down, use:

Alt + up-key or down-key

---> Attention, if num-lock or cap is enabled, this function is toggeld, which
is right usefull for programms using the F-keys. Otherwise, ctwm is occupying
them completely.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
				Windows:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Move windows or raize them:
---------------------------
Of course, you can move windows, setting the mouse-pointer at the titlebar, using
the X-icon in the titlebar, which gives the root-menu of button3 or
activating the move-function in the root-menu of button3 from root-background,
but what is much nicer, using

Alt + button1

somewhere at the window. No focussing anylonger.

If the pointer in this key-combination is not moved, the window will only be
raized.

resize a window or lower it:
----------------------------
Standard functions of course, you can resize windows, using the right icon on
the titlebar, using the X-icon in the titlebar, which give the root-menu of
button3 or the resize function in the root-menu button3 from the root-background.
A little bit easier,

Alt + button3

somewhere at the window.

If the pointer is not moved, the window will be lowered.

iconify a window:
-----------------

Standard functions again, you can iconify a window, using the left icon on the
titlebar, the menu from the X-icon, the iconmanager or

Alt + button2 somewhere at the window.

chance the occupation of a window:
----------------------------------

use the workspacemanager: setmouse-pointer onto it an press ctrl

	   - Button1 moves a window from a workspace to another.
	   - Button2 copies a window from a workspace to another.
	   - Button3 removes a window from a workspace, but not deleting it!

If you move the mouse-pointer from the workspacemanager, being set into mapstate,
before releaseing the ctrl key, it will keep its mapstate and visa versa.

The occupation of a window can also be chanced when pressing button2 onto the
titlebar. See what happens.

delete or kill window:
----------------------
see functions in the titlebar or the root-menu or:

ctrl | shift + button3 will delete a window
ctrl | shift + button2 will kill a window by the server
ctrl | shift + button1 will iconify the window

Functions of the titlebar:
--------------------------
from left to right:

-iconify
-delete (pirate)
-fullzoom (bar)
-workspace actions (star)
(separator)
-root-menu button1 (menu/book)
-root-menu button2 (terminal)
-root-menu button3 (X)

(root-menus have been included in order to get access to the root menu when a
window is on fullzoom)

icons on the right side from right to left:

-resize
-fullzoom

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
			Short-Cut Functions / Macros:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

to get xterms:
--------------
F9 = very small xterm, unplaced
F10 = standard size
F11 = large size
F12 = root-window, unplaced

programs:
---------
F1  = get this help quicklier! :-)
F2  = xlock screen

ctrl + F9 = YaST

ctwm-functions on ctrl +F??:
------------------------
ctrl + F1 = restarts Ctwm
ctrl + F2 = refreshes all windows
ctrl + F4 = shows workspacemanager and iconmanager

and of course:
Alt + Tab = circles trough all the windows

ctrl + F12 = exits Ctwm and the Xsession

---> The F-key-functions are not possible when num-lock or cab is enabled!
     See above!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
			How to edit .ctwmrc
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this script the order of the ctwm script, VARIABLES, BINDINGS and MENUS, is
generally continued, although, because of the many features of ctwm, like
workspacemanager, iconmanager, etc, I set up a new general order. Each feature
will be definded in one block, following the general order:

- Definitions without any values
- variable Definitions with values
- Fonts
- Colors
- (setup, if necessarry, like for the workspacemanager)
- Functions
- (special Menus, if required, like for the title border functions)

The order to find all defined functions, see the list below. All functions
continuing the new general order are marked with '+', the other functions
with '-'.
The order is:

  (VARIABLES)
+ Ctwm-Root-Settings
+ Workspacemanager
+ Iconmanager
+ Windows (I. borders)
	  (II. titles and title functions)

  (BINDINGS)
- short-cuts (windowmanager commands and macros on short-cuts)
+ Mouse-functions
- Macros (definition of all program-macros in the order of the workspacemager)

  (MENUS)
+ Menus:
	- I. Hauptmenus
	- II. Popupmenus
	-III. Added SuSE-Popupmenu (automatic genrated)

---> Important: This .ctwmrc file is right wide. When editing, some editors like
to set an ENTER automatically, when writing over a border. That
may cause problems for ctwm sometimes. So be careful!

---> Important: If you are using SuSE-Linux, you can incluce the the automatic
generated ctwm-file, in order to get all the programs and
		functions of SuSE-Linux.
Copy from the generated system.ctwm file (to find problably in
the directory: /usr/lib/X11/twm/) within the area:

###############################################################################
# #
# general menus to be configured before special menus #
# #
###############################################################################

and	(copy everything within these marks from the system.ctwmrc of SuSE-Linux
automatic generated file into the predefined ara of the .ctwmrc file of
	 this configuration)

###############################################################################
# #
# mouse bindings specific to ctwm #
# #
###############################################################################

at the end of the personal configuration of this ctwmrc file. In
this .ctwmrc file some SuSE-Linux menu data are already included,
which have to be removed before, of course. Please see the
description within the .ctwmrc file and follow the instructions
		there.
Important: The mouse-root-bindings at the end of the copied system.ctwm
have to be removed, not having the root-buttons defined twice.

You will find the SuSE-Menus been added to the root-Window
(left-mous-button at the root-screen) at the bottom of it. The
submenus incluce the three root-mouse-functions been defined by
		SuSE.

If you use other automatic generated files, which you wish to
		include, look for:

###########################################################
# III. popup-Gruppe: Einbau von Susewm #
###########################################################

		and edit popupmenu.
